Since you usually take care of yourself on the campsite, you should buy some non-perishable groceries in advance. Cooking together with loved ones is often the absolute highlight and makes a successful camping trip.

Store perishables in a cool box

Especially in summer, a cool box is indispensable when camping. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a hot day by the sea, lake, in the forest or on the campsite, drinks should be kept cool and food that perishes quickly should be protected from the sun. Therefore, you should always take a cool bag with you. So you can easily take all the food and cooking ingredients with you that normally have to be refrigerated. You don’t have to miss out on a delicious dish in your camping tents. A cool box does not take up much space, but it fulfills its purpose perfectly.

Use storage boxes

For all other foods that do not need to be refrigerated, you should still use lockable storage boxes. These include, for example, tea, coffee, pasta, and spices. It protects these foods from moisture, but also from insects and creepy crawlies. So you can store an already opened pack at the campsite without hesitation.

Another advantage that storage boxes bring is that you have all your groceries organized. As a result, you don’t have to spend a long time looking for a specific ingredient before cooking, you have everything at hand.

Don’t take too much food with you

Be sure to plan ahead. In other words, the best thing to do is to think about what you always want to cook before you start your trip and pack your groceries accordingly. If you take too much with you, it’s more likely that something will go bad or you’ll have to throw something away. Therefore, take a little less with you and buy fresh food, especially food that perishes quickly, on the go.

Pack non-perishable food

Since after an eventful day you usually don’t want to worry about where to get your dinner from in the evening, you should always have a supply of non-perishable food ready.

Especially basic things like oil, spices, and sauces are needed almost every day for cooking and should therefore be there right from the start. But foods such as pasta, rice, canned vegetables, and couscous are also popular travel companions that you should always have on hand. You can quickly and easily prepare a nice and delicious dish with a sauce or any spices.  These foods don’t go bad either if you store them properly in boxes.
